May have to replace the antenna, and wire to the stereo.

Do you have an antenna in the windshield or rear window? If so have the connection checked. If it is a screw-in antenna, have that connection checked. Antenna's if not broken or bent will not fail, but the connection will. If the antenna connections are good to the radio, I'd have the radio checked. It sounds like a diode on the circuit board is qua-put.
