no reverse gear in automatic

Asked by madieparis May 26, 2013 at 11:21 AM about the 1994 Toyota 4Runner 4 Dr SR5 V6 SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good Day,
I have a Toyota SUV 1994 with a v6 engine and an automatic transmission. All the gears work fine and I have had no ongoing and/or worsenings problems or slipage...one exception: Reverse abruptly stopped working. Never had any issue before. Huh?

Could be the range selector as well, but you still have to pull the trans to get to it. The good news is the range selector is cheaper to fix.
