About 1993 camry, anyone?

Asked by lakaymo2 Feb 17, 2009 at 10:34 PM about the 1993 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is about my v6 xle 1993 camry. My mechanic changed the power steering pump because my steeringwheel became noisy and hard to steer and leaking. It is still leaking even after the pump-change. Another mechanic said, it was misdiagnosed because, it should have been the rack and pinion that had been replaced. I almost spent for the whole price of that car just for that repair. Now, I need your expert opinions to put to rest my questioning mind as mechanics are beginning to create in me the "Doubtful Thomas' attitude" toward them.

Yes, the leaking hose is fairly common. Up near the firewall. It's often missed - it shouldn't be!
