You need to have someone check to see if it is not firing or not getting gas.
i have already checked the fuel pump and filters its getting fuel and i have just changed out the distributor cap and rotor and it turns over and has plenty of juice to kick over but just keeps turning over and wont start. how do i check for spark
Pull one of the spark plug wires off and stick a screwdriver inside the wire and touch the screwdriver to metal. Lay it on the metal don't hold it. Crank the engine and look at the screwdriver and metal to see if it sparks.
thanks ill try it and come back and let you know in a few thanks
there is no spark coming from the wire what do i do from here
Does it crank over real fast or normal?
If it cranks faster than normal usually the timing belt has broken.
ok so where would i look to see if its broken or is this a coil problem
You should be able to go to the passenger side which is the front of the engine., there is a long plastic cover from top to bottom of engine about 6" wide. Pull the cover back at the top and look to see if the belt is all there and you can't get any movement out of it.
If it is ok it could be a crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor or coil.
is there a special tool that I need to use to pull the crankshaft pulley off to access the lower timing belt cover
Some will just come off when you take the bolt out. Others have to be taken off with a puller. Ask them where you buy the belt. They can tell you.
