Yes, they discovered the leak while performing an oil change yesterday. This is the recommendation word for word, "driver's side axle needs to be replaced $259.50 plus tax, $197.50 plus tax to replace axle seal if not doing axle, $82.99 if replacing axle at the same time". They installed a used transmission with similar mileage to what the former one had with a year warranty on parts and labor. The invoice date is June 9, 2015. The car sat there for 4 months while they located the replacement.

Ok. My question is, shouldn't this be covered under the 1 year parts and labor warranty? Not at my expense.

1 year on parts and labor. They're taking care of everything. Once I pointed out the invoice date, they couldn't argue because I'm still in warranty. Thank you for confirming which seals should be changed when replacing a transmission. They did NOT change that seal.
