Chevy Cavalier Issue - Process of elimination

Asked by Drivingmissdaily Sep 22, 2016 at 09:26 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It works like a champ and then suddenly doesn't. ZERO running issues and
then won't start. Mid-day errands or first thing in the morning makes no
difference. Jump works. Battery is new, alternator is new, sometimes it
rattles when start is attempted, sometimes it clicks when start is attempted.
Sometimes nothing and Starts right up (50% of the time). Died running at a
light yesterday. Fuses are good. HELP. Please!!!

Check all grounds from engine block to frame and frame to battery and loose connections and fuses. Do you hear a snap like a short if so look for shorts too.
