I have a 1992 pickup with a 22re in the afternnoon only my truck will start cutting out really bad, back fire and will cut off if I idle it does not do it in the mornings for some reason

Check your plugs, wires and distributor.

Here's the things I would check: Compression check, clean EGR, check MAF, change plugs, replace ECT, check for vacuum leaks, check grounds, mist down plug wires and coil with a water bottle to check for spark leaks. Here is a video on another area to inspect.............. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czOG-4XdxOQ One other component known to give trouble is the IAC which is located under the intake. I would replace that last. It's the most difficult part to replace out of all the listed above parts. Keep us posted on your findings.....
