There is no speed sensor for this year of toyota truck. It has a mechanical speedometer head, with a cable running off a gear inside the transmission. I would check and see if the speedometer cable is loose from the transmission. If it is ask the owner, why, before you by it.
I have a 1992 Toyota pickup and yes it has a speedometer sensor you will locate it in the side of the transmission
Yes, there is a speed sensor in that year, and it signals a motor- driven speedo. When mine went out, I bought a used (cheap) instrument cluster online and pulled out the existing one, replaced the speedo from the 'new' one into the slot, and returned the cluster to the dash. It's a bit of a job to get it out, but can do with patience and careful maneuvering.
