2001 7.3 powerstroke bogs down/hesitates when accelerating from a stop

2001 7.3 powerstroke. When stopped at a light or
stop sign the truck idles fine. When you leave from
the stop and press the accelerator the engine
starts to rev and then bogs down and the revs fine
from there. It seems to be worse if stopped going
up a hill. I have checked the fuel pressure while
stopped, accelerating, and normal driving. It stays
at 60psi prefilter. Also when in reverse if you have
to stop suddenly the truck will shut off

First thing that comes to mind when a diesel engine shows a power loss is fuel filters. If your fuel filters are overdue to be replaced, do that first. Fuel starvation causes all the problems you describe. Also check your air filter. And your "pre filter" pressure shows your transfer pump is good and tank vent is not clogged. Now if your truck has a lot of miles, you may want to have the injector pump pressure tested too. They eventually wear out and cause peak power loss. I worked on semis and swapping out worn injector pumps made them run like a beast for power.

Bobbijo. Even though it's a diesel, I believe it can be scanned for codes too. If you are experiencing the same problems, first thing I suggest for diesel owners is to check the fuel filters and a water separators if it has one. And during this cold snap, fuel can gel up and water caught in filters can turn to ice. There's fuel additives that help but you have to put them in before things freeze solid.
My 7.3 it ideal fine when i gave it a little gas it runs good but as soon as i gave it more gas like four it the motor blog down and wont run or take off its a 1999 f250
