Sometimes when I hit rough road the rear of the truck starts bouncing violently and won't stop unless I slow down nearly to a stop.

Leaf spring broke? shocks need to be replaced? look at the springs and see it you notice a crack or part of a spring hanging or rear end shifted to one side.

Jump and down on the rear bumper. You will be able to tell if the shocks are bad if it bounces more than once.
