Ford F150 stalling

Asked by Mtt0724 Dec 22, 2016 at 01:36 PM about the 1995 Ford F-150 XL SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 Ford F150 5.0 Mustang
motor. I overheated this past Sunday
when it was -7 degrees out. I tried to drive
back to my house. Truck finally stalled
and battery was getting no power. I
changed the thermostat. And I cleaned
and dried the distributor cap since it was
soaked. Drove fine last night. But this
morning it will start but will stall on idle. I
put oil in it last Thursday. But when I
checked it on Sunday when it was
overheating, the oil was all but gone and
what was left was like sludge. Any ideas
would be helpful. It's my only vehicle and
Christmas is days away.
