Fuel tanks

My rear tank stays running when in switch to front
tank. I can hear both tanks running.  Front tank
goes down slowly will rear tank drains faster. When
I switch to back ,front tank stops running.

Only option is a faulty selector switch not letting power brake away from one fuel pump supply line before powering the other
