lowering with leaf springs??

can you take out a leaf and lower an s10 safely if your not gonna use it for hauling??

Instead of removing leaves, i recommend doing a spring under conversion. Drop your real axle and mount the leaf spring to the bottom of the axle tube, which in turn raises the axle closer to the body making it lower. In the same respect, you can also put blocks in between the axle tube and the spring with this conversion to make it even lower. Keep in mind that in performing a conversion of this type will alter your pinion angle amongst other things, which could possibly be detrimental to your vehicle.

johns right its the way to go adding and removing leafs is sketchy and tricky can be dangerous i use block set-up some ppl flip leafs to get crazy low but hinders ride quality tho are u two wheel or four if four why lower?

i have a four wheel automatic i like the looks of lowered small trucks ill post pics soon i have 18s on it i dont want it crazy low just drop it a bit but when doing a spring over is there welding involved? and is the front axle similar to the back? and a gues on how difficult and unsafe this is for my truck im pretty good with my hands and i kno a lot of guys who raise jeeps but no experience lowering just give some info and a few options and procedures to do so.

i have a 2 wheel s10 and i just put a 3" drop in the front with springs, and 4" lowering blocks in the back. its the perfect set up. ride quality is still the same.

Does any body know if there a lowering kit that go lower then 5 inch drop???for my 91 Chevy s10 .....iv looked and looked lowest I seen is 5 I want to go lower in front and bag with out using bags
