Fuel pump only turns on when lights are on with or without key on

This s10 has not ran for 2 yrs because it had a bad
fuel pump I put a new fuel pump in it and it
started right up but the weird thing is that I
noticed that the fuel pump only turns on when the
lights r on. The other thing is that the fuel pump
goes on when I turn on the lights without even
having the key on (fuel pump turns on even when I
take out the relay) and the car has some weird hid
lights an little box thing set up from a while ago
