new alternator wont charge new battery and i check the fuses and they are goodon my 2001 chevy impala

As a rule ,these cars are battery sensing or machine sensing.If this is the case then all you need to do is cut the the larger red wire in the 4 pin plug going to the alternator plg or repair the fusible link going to it that comes from the starter solenoid.Only do this after the alternator hasd been tested and is known to be good,verify that the belt is not slipping.
