Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My oil light kept coming on. I just bought tge
truck. It was low on oil. I added 2 quarts.
The next day i had an oil change. I was told
it was 2 quarts low. I had checked it the last
week and it was fine. Last night on my way
home, the oil light went to 0. I pulled over
checked it there was no oil in it. Underneath
there was no oil leak. It made it home i put 3
quarts in it and it was back on 0 when i
arrived home. I really need help.

That's not good news. I hope you bought it from a reputable place or individual. If it's losing oil that quickly, the previous owner likely knew about the problem. Try contacting them and ask them to fix the problem. If you don't see it leaking from underneath, it may be seeping into the engine's combustion chamber and going out the tailpipe. Check for oil residue out the tailpipe. It may also be burning oil super fast -- again -- not a good sign. Sorry for your trouble!

Extreme oil leak you must be able to see this leaking under the truck . If you were burning so much oil it would look like a smoke screen behind you!
I really am mad. A guy stopped and said the same thing. He spoke of something ring. Dealing with tearing the engine down. I didn't understand, i was hoping it was something simple. One thing he said is that the previous owners used a heavy stp oil to mask the problem. When i changed the oil that is when the problem evolved.
Yes, it certainly sounds like the seller masked the problem. I am so sorry! I hope you can track them down, stop payment on your check, or take them to small claims court and get some money back!
