Truck keeps running out of oil

Has anyone ever heard of this problem?  Here's what happened:

I usually get my oil changed every 3k miles. I was just under at about 2,880
when my oil gauge said to check oil. I was right near Jiffy Lube and I know
they do free top offs before the 3k so I just swung in there. He said it was
almost bone dry...He topped it off and I went on my way.

At 2300 miles from then, the gauge went off again. I swung back into Jiffy that
same hour and again practically bone dry. The guy didn't understand how it
could be happening...

My truck runs great. I never tow anything. I use it for city driving only. It has
150k miles on it. I have no oil leaks anywhere.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

Kelly, that’s the weird thing. I’ve got no dark smoke out of my dual exhaust. I just had an emissions test last year and passed without issue. I know oil can evaporate but I would think that’s a bit excessive. ???
