2004 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab: AC system stoped working at maxium capacity

when turned up all the way it only blows at the second level. It is still cold air just wont blow at maxium level. Also it will not switch between out side air and recylced air. Any ideas?

From what you have described sounds like problem is in the selector switch. Do you notice the switch feels any different than it used to when you turn it?
the problem with your blower motor only blowing at the speed of the second setting is the blower motor resistor. the problem with it not switching between inside air, and outside air, is the blend door stepper motor not working properly.
First and foremost, the HVAC system on your truck is all electronic, blend and actuator doors all have electronic servos. Many or the recirculate doors broke on the rams and usually involved replacing the lower HVAC housing and the appropriate broken door. As for the speed one of two things. The motor itself may have to high of resistance causing the blower motor resistor to burn out, which would cause between 1 and 3 speeds only.
