1999 ram 2500 removed cat

I removed the cat ran a straight pipe car
runs fine but is running rich and gas
mileage dropped from 14 to 4 ran codes
and says nothing wrong . Does that model
be to have a cat to recycle fuel ? That was
what someone told me

Without the cat and the O2 sensors the computer can't meter the fuel correctly.
