As a fellow Benz owner (we have a 2012 E350 4MATIC AMG, I can answer this question with 100% certainty 2001 and new Mercedes Benz Anti Theft Systems have to be recoded and reset by visiting a Mercedes Benz certified dealer or repair shop.

the unlock button doesnt work either nor the other buttons car will start
