I am experiencing sudden drop in rpm while idling (in the morning), and engine sounds quite loud too while driving on flat road. Any suggestions?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1. Engine sounds rough while driving.
2. I could feel it a little bit sluggish esp. when overtaking.
3. I maintained my car regularly, and on schedule with all parts changed, as and when
required.
4. My Mechanic thinks it could be due to engine mounting or tappets or compressor
itself.

I am not sure. But, I was told by a mechanic that in the case of a surge, check the carbon canister. It could be saturated with gas or simply worn out. Good Luck

Thanks, elahraf! I thought so too, as lately, I have not been travelling out of the City (to decarbonize the Canister!). I guess it is the same issue with my previous Alfa Romeo. Nevertheless, I shall get my Mechanic to check the Carbon Canister..
