We have a 2003 clk. We put it in the shop for routine stuff. When we went to pick it up the dealership told us they couldn't shift it out of park and that the shifter had shorted out. This would cost an additional $2000. We have never had the lest problem with this before however we have had things mysteriously break at the dealership before. Are we being taken for a ride?

If you drove the car on to their lot without an issue and was there for a routine server.. and while the car was at the dealership and this shifter issue occurred.. the dealership is responsible for any damages or mishandling of you vehicle. A lawyer maybe needed at this point. However, It would be wise to read any fine print within your work contract, just to verify you signed a waver stating that the dealer is not responsible for any loss of propertied of damages to you vehicle.
