I believed they used different transmissions.

The internal gear ratio is different between the two.
Put the V6 back, in the long run it will be more cost effective...
I want to replace the motor with a 5.3 Chevy would it bolt up properly or do I need to make a lot of changes
Ok thanks u guys ......u right never thought about it like that
I would sell the V6 car and buy a V8 car. It will cost less and you won't have all the trouble that goes with an engine swap.
Plenty of 90's Camaros out there, and they are cheap. I agree with the above poster, just get a V8 Camaro. camarov6.com has a guide on this type of swap, IMO it's way more work than its worth considering how plentiful 4th gen ones are.
If I swap my gmc V8 for a V6 do i have to change the tranny also
