last night my car was working fine and i was getting out of my friends drive way when all of a sudden my car started to jerk and it just died, i tried to start it again and it did but when i gave it gas the rpms didnt go past 2 when i would rev it. so next i used jumper cables and my car has been working fine ever since it starts , it runs, i seem to have no issue with it whats happening?

So the car died. When you restarted, it would not rev past 2000 in neutral? Then you used jumper cables to start the engine and now everything is normal. Why did you use jumper cables? Was there a problem starting the engine before it healed itself?
