Check the linkage on the throttle body it might be disconnected or broken cable. Are there any warning lights on the cluster

Sounds like a bad ECU (computer) Need to have it checked with live data scanner.
I have an 02 jetta that the engine won't go above idle - runs fine on idle but it's like the he's pedal is disconnected. Engine is the 1.8 turbocharged.
