I bought a new radio for my 2008 VW Jetta it worked but it had very bad reception plus I wanted a in dash GPS,I installed the new radio and the screen lit up and I was in the process of setting it up and checking out the functions,I took the key out of the on position and went to turn it back on and I had nothing and even reinstalled the factory radio and still had nothing I checked for voltage at the factory plug and no voltage.I checked all of the fuses under the hood and at the left side of the dash and all of the fuses were fine,Im I missing a fuse,inline etc.I ran a temporary ground wire and still nothing,no voltage at the plug any help will be appreciated I don't know what else to check.Thank You 1 Answer

I have no voltage at the plug that goes to the back of the radio,as bad that the factory radio was it still turned on but just had very bad reception.

i have a 2004 vw jetta 1.8t and i tried to start it one day and it only cranked. i know i need a new battery, but when it was charged i could hear the pump hum and i had changed the oil. i changed the crankshaft position sensor and all the spark plugs and fuel filter and still no start. i changed the pump relay and still nothing im at my wits end and i need my second car to start runnin. its not getting any fuel because i tried starting fluid in the spark plug area and it fired right up its not leaking from any hoses. the only thing i changed in it was a battery for the keyless entry and the oil. i have the check engine light on and when i try to start it the battry sounds like its losing power and the oil light will start flashing. what is the malfunction. i know it needs air fuel and spark, and fuel is my problem. 7 Answers

ive found ways to reset immobolizer on my 02 VW Jetta,they say,hook up battery charger and leave key in but dont try and start for 10 mins to an hour ,but my immobolizer light doesnt cothe only light that comes on is the battery light so what do i do to reset mu immoblizer? do the same process? Have 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Wouldn't start-battery dead. Apparently dimming gradually over 2 or 3 days and them died. No problem took out battery. Tested at AutoZone-wouldn't hold a charge. Weak cell or cells. Put new battery in using proper sequence. Immediately alarm reacted, wipers moving at near full speed, horn constant, not intermittent, car won't start. No dash idicators will come on. Disconnect battery and re-connect. Same reaction and car will not start. No visible reset button for alarm. Keyless system with only "fob". Just replaced batteries in "fob" only 1 month ago. Any ideas as to what may be the problem. 4 Answers

Changed battery. Car won't start. Causes constant sounding alarm horn, wipers continuously sweeping, parking lights flashing. "Fob" cannot and will not actuate door locks or shut off alarm. Bust...
