okay...you're are going to need a good set of line wrenches~...next measure the line and shop for the correct replacement from a most capable auto parts supplier where there's a guy who smokes a pipe and still has NOS 1959 pontiac parts....buy from a store like that~
Be careful not to bend, twist, fold, spindle, or mutilate the new line. Sometimes GM ran the line inside the frame and replacements needed to be attached to the outside of the frame unless you have the body off the frame. Either way, make sure the fastener, new ones if you can, are secure and tight. A good quality line is best since you don't want a line to rupture during a panic stop. Clean all rust from the frame rail and use something like "rustolium" to spray the brushed or sanded areas. Get the lines already fluted at the ends ready for hookup if it is called for. Make sure you use brass connecters if possible for a secure and tight fit. A more experienced person can bend and cut the lines to fit, but get an original replacement part or aftermarket one that is made for your make and model. Proper tools are a must, and don't over tighten the nuts/bolts.
