running for a few seconds then dying does sound like a fuel problem- while sitting for a long time, the gas has degraded- some people call it "varnish" maybe because that's the way old gas smells- and the moisture in a tank will corrode the inner lining of a tank (rust)- both these things will clog injectors- and fuel pumps- and gas lines- and fuel filters- the best way to deal with an improperly stored car is to FIRST pull and clean the tank- if minimal rust, it can THEN be filled with clean gas- but just taking the car and trying to start it pulls all this gunk up from the tank and spreads it thru the whole fuel system- yikes- at this point, I would pull the tank, clean it, check for rust, (if there's rust, just buy a new tank) reinstall, buy a new fuel pump and fuel filter- put a few gallons of clean fuel in- AND- if you get lucky, those injectors might clear up and fire that bad boy off- hope so- injectors are expensive- if there is some other problem keeping the engine from firing this is not wasted work- it had to be done anyway
