My 1997 Tahoe starts and idles good but when I place my foot on the brake peddle it stalls.

sounds like what hytec...said above.. but a vacume leak in a seal / diaphragm /inside the booster itself or where it mates to the master cylinder..

this is a 97 tahoe it prob. had a master that leaked into the VACUUM booster. put a booster on it.
