95 camaro transmission won't shift without letting off gas

Just for giggles, unhook the battery for a while and see if that fixes it. Many things can cause this. I am assuming the fluid level is good. Scan the engine for codes, if there is an engine problem, it can manifest itself in the tranny. Even a bad tps can do it. Hopefully you don't need a trans rebuild.

Replace the optispark. When shifting with the accelerator fully pressed, the optispark backs off momentarily to allow the shift to take place. A faulty optispark reengages too quickly and then backs off again. It endlessly repeats the cycle until you back off the accelerator thus allowing the transmission to shift. ....Been there done that.
