everybody wants to do 4 different things for this vibration; the only time you don't feel it is when you have the cruise set and staying one speed. it has no noise like bad cv joints or any noise. definitely not the tires.

Check the engine mounts,if the vibration its coming from the engine department, that will be the first i will check. Now if the vibration its coming from the steering wheel i will think its suspension(tires, wishbones etc)

no one has offered that fix; i'll bring it to my mechanic and ask him. thanks also how hard is it to change the solenoid for the rear hatch, and how
Check the balance in all the wheels, if they are out of balance it could do that. I would be concerned about the fact that once in cruise control, it does not happen. There is a "sweet spot" that the wheels will hit and I suspect that is where it stops vibrating. Another possible culprit could be bent front rims, and/or broken belts within the tires. You say it isn't the tires and I am assuming that you had them checked or are they new?
