starter won't turn with new battery

sounds like the starter is locked up.

1. Is the new battery any good? Check the voltage. 2. If the battery is good, hit the starter with a block of wood it jar it a bit. If it starts after that, then the starter needs replacing. start with those

I guess someone who cant spell solenoid is an automotive genius. Of course checking if the battery is discharged to the point where it wont crank is a stupid idea.
