Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I HAVE had the starter tested it is good. Battery tested good also... click...that's all you hear. I have even went as far as hot wiring the starter..  I Know THIS for sure the starter is TRYING to engage but is just HITTING the Flywheel. THATS THE CLICK IM HEARING.but why isn't the starter engaging into the flywheel teeth??? cant figure this much out. Only assumption I can come up with is bent flywheel?? but my car worked just fine the other day when I last drove it and shut it off!??????   PLEASE HELP ME

Just to be clear- its not electrical or fuel or anything like that...Its more like the flywheel teeth aren't lining up with the starter. its not turning over at all.. And the teeth aren't grinding. the starter is trying to engage but is just hitting the flywheel and stopping
