Saabaru timing belt replacement

Asked by Guru1HGMD Sep 11, 2019 at 05:21 PM about the 2005 Saab 9-2X Aero

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lucked into a 2005 saab 92x aero. WRX engine and STI rack. Legitimately
22,000 miles. So my belt is 14 years old, but less than a third of the mileage for
recommended change. Do I need to do the belt, thermo, water pump?

Change the belt. I might leave the other stuff if there are no overheating issues.

Yes. The rubber degrades over time and atmospheric exposure, as or maybe more important than the mileage
