93 cavalier died

Asked by Sarah Apr 02, 2016 at 09:37 PM about the 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier RS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a 93 cavalier a month ago.  Drove fine.  Oil
pressure gauge read high all the time.  Was told it
was the sensor.  Drove to the store Easter Sunday
and it was fine.  Started the car and the idle started
jumping all over and then the car died and hasn't
started again since then.  Replaced fuel filter and
pump.  Relays are fine and spark plugs are good.
It's cranking over but  just not turning on.  Making a
psst sound from behind the altanator.  Can anyone
give me any ideas on what it could be

Sarah, sounds like to me it's a Vacuume line that has come loose. Find it an hook it back up an it should be good to go. Good luck!

Yes, if the vacuume line is off its sucking to much air to start up. Find the hissing noise an more then likely it's a rubber boot that covers the vacuume line. An plug it off an that should fix it. Good luck!
