Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went to open the hood of my '93 burban and the cable has tension but it did not relase the latch.  How can I get the hood open?

I would try spraying the latch unit with some WD40 through the grille and let it soak for a couple days. If that doesn't work, then you have the ugly task of trying to pop it open with a screwdriver or take the grille off and remove the latch.

You might also try pushing the hood down a bit to release the latch. The same thing happend to me and i couldn't fiqure it out for a couple of days, so i said heck with it and tried pushing the hood down a little not expecting it to work and to my suprise it did.
