Electrical/Fast Draining Battery

Asked by CHVYMAN1982 Aug 29, 2019 at 04:46 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab. For the past three years
I have had the same problems. My passenger window stopped working, my
gas gauge does not measure what isin my tank properly, I have replaced my
alternator and gone through six batteries. It will drive great for a while and
then it will just not start one day. I can jump it and it will run but the second I
turn it off I have to jump it again. I have replaced the terminals multiple times
and used different kinds to see if it would make a difference. I have replaced
my distributor cap as well. My A/C and Heat stopped working, windshield
wipers work on and off and my dashboard lights dont come on at times.
Please help! I have tried everything!

you need to find the short , search "parasitic drain " and have at it . Could be anything , that's an old vehicle and mice will invade even a daily driver .
