It still goes through cap and rotor like they are going out of style. Im at a loss.
Is it scorching them or just going bad with no signs of anything?
There is a break down in your ignnition coil.Your probably finding red dust insife your distributor.A sure sign of weak fire and a bad ignition coil.

The contacts inside the cap are brass on the last one that i just changed they turned a white powdery look with black scores in the middle of each post

But no on the red dust And the distributor is new less than a year old not remanufactured.
Sound,s like the distributor is bad again, the distributor ground,s through the block,if you have this kind of problem,i would think it would be a ground to block problem, check all ground lead,s to the block and to head,s,bad ground will cause this.
