My toyota 2007 can't accelerate why?

Please I bought toyota 2007 on Facebook sell, it
has close to 50000k odometer and the engine
light is on, immediately I drive out the car
dealership shop and drive like 15munites,, on high
80"km I realize that my car is not respondeto my
acceleration, it keeps going down even as I press
the pedal, I have to leave it entirely and cone on
again befor it will respond again, please can
anyone tell me what might be the problem as I
can't take it back to the seller now, thanks for
anticipation

No I didn't have a warrantee or anything, please I really wanna know what might be the cause so I can repair it, and secondly I can't sue him or anything he sold the car little cheap to me
