2007 Toyota Camry automatic but has slap shift but I never use it.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

6 weeks ago I had a flat, got some
pull off tires put on. After that my
car slowly started to vibrate when
accelerating. Then one night on
my way home on interstate I was
driving and all of a sudden
something broke and it sounded
like glass hitting Rd.  Found out it
was the passenger CV joint/ shaft
axle.  Replaced it 2 weeks ago and
has been driving fine.  Tonight on
my way home I'm driving down the
road accelerating and all of a
sudden it was like it got knocked
out of drive into neutral ( when
mashing the gas motor would
recommend up but not go).  But it
was still in drive.  Any suggestions
of what could be wrong now

What are.....pull off tires....and did you check the transmission fluid level....smell? Does the fluid smell burnt?

Pull off tires good slightly used tires. When I got the CV shaft replaced they checked the transmission fluid and said there was none it so the put some in. And that was 2 weeks ago. I haven't gotten the car towed back home yet to smell the trans fluid.

Perhaps you might consider having the car towed to a quality tranny repair shop for an EVALUATION. Give them a good history on the vehicle. When a Trans runs out of fluid....well....that is not good...and...usually results in Big $$$$ repairs. Use caution, make sure they understand you need an estimate.....not permission to repair. Good Luck.
