Just got a "Gearbox Malfunction" warning and the associated "check engine" warning.  What causes this warning and can it be cleared?  The car seems to be ok???

Disconnect the battery for about a half hour. That will clear the codes. As to what set it off? Go to AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts and have them read the code for free.
