yeah, depends on type of vehicle, but some of them have electronic steering control/etc. lock up when no power is engaged. I suppose there is also some type of sensor that acknowledges the key has been pushed in the ignition cyclinder, in which case sense your batter is dead you'll have to charge it back up. You have a few options, get a battery charger from Walmart or auto store or have someone come jump start your car. You can also test the battery to verify its dead, but again you can still charge it up. I'd say have charge it up, leave car on for 1 hour and then it should be good the next few days. if it dies again you know it's not the batter.
