What I do know though is one should never accept a check for purchase and pickup. all transactions should be through a secure network or in person! am I correct?

YES NEVER SELL A CAR WITH A CHECK, CASH IS KING , WATCH ALSO FOR CERTIFIED CHECKS THEY CAN BE BAD AS WELL. NO MONEY ORDERS ! CASH CASH CASH.....

I absolutely agree. I almost got scammed once with a job offer. After I posted this car up I have been bombarded by scammer trying to send me checks!

A bank check, also know as a cashiers check, or cash.
