where can I find technical information for servicing the engine on my 2000 V6 wagon,
Asked by J0hnny Oct 18, 2007 at 09:30 AM about the 2000 Saab 9-5 SE V6 Wagon
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have just bought a wonderfull V6 wagon, but where can I find technical information for servicing the engine on it, which plugs, what oil and filter. I have tried to obtain a 'haynes service book' but they cover the wagon but not this engine as they say there were too many variations!! whatever that means, obviously the exhaust is different and frontsuspension? Can anybody point me in the direction for technical info please.

John

You will want to try to find the factory service manual, either through a Saab dealer, or on Ebay. The factory shop manual will cover everything you need to know.
www.alldata.com sells a 1 year membership for 15 dollars per car, if i am not mistaken. you may look into that.
You can also look for the Saab Workshop Information System (WIS) either on Ebay or from the dealer. That's in CD or DVD form and will have a ton of info/tech specs on a number of model years for the 9-5.
go to www.saabtechinfo.com. It will cost you $20/day but it's the same info dealer techs use and its priceless. Alldata and Mitchell are sorely lacking.
i would join the worlds biggest saab site, www.saabcentral.com
