Built in Phone controls on the steering wheel

Asked by rehabdr Feb 12, 2015 at 02:06 AM about the 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0T

Question type: General

Hi
I have a Saab 93 2007 60th Anniversary Special Edition that has phone control buttons located on the steering wheel.  The manual that came with the car says that the car is pre-wired for the phone (TELE 1), but I couldn't make my iphone pair with the car.  I was told by a friend of mine that I need an adapter that plugs in the car which will make the phone pair with the car and then I will be able to use my phone using the buttons on the steering wheel.  I also see that there is a microphone located on the top console above the rearview mirror.  The car manual says that there is a microphone located there.
Could you kindly help me find the appropriate accessory to make this work.  I will really appreciate.
Thanks

I have the same car with all the same buttons, I was told that a dealer had to link me cell to my car. I took it to a local dealer who had been a Saab dealer. After looking at my car the tech told me I did not have that option on my car. But it was true that a Saab tech need to pair the phone to the car.
