If it ran fine last night and made no strange noises before or when you shut it off, a broken timing chain is super low on the list of things that might be wrong. If the oil filler is on the valve cover, a easy way to check the timing chain is to look through the oil fill and see if the cam is turning while a friend cranks the engine. If you can't see it directly, sometimes a dentists mirror will give you an angle. If the cam turns when cranking, the chain is OK.
Thanks Kevin I found out it's not the timing chain.but it does sound like the motor is turning extra freely when turning it over.someone said could be the crankshaft sensor if so how is that checked
You can use a code scanner to see if the engine computer has any codes set. If a friend has one or if you could get someone nice from an auto parts store to loan you one, or stop by. That's the only way I know to diagnose a crank position sensor.
