I cannot seem to get the back seats to fold down flat in my Focus Is there some trick to get them to do this?

they wont lay complety flat.no trick,is as far as they go down.

Have you tried lifting the bottom of the backseat forward from the back of the seat before you put the backrest down? My ZX5 hatch does that but if you have a sedan it might not. They just kind of pop out and hinge forward. They should fold forward to the front seat. I can sleep in my hatch and I am 5'9".

Yeah, I've got a 2007 4 door Focus with the bench style back seat. You can pull the bench part up and then pull the backs forward and down, making it almost completely flat.
