If it try,s to start,could be starving for fuel,check the fuel filter and the fuel pump.
My son's 2003 died one day. Same sympton. I ask when he last changed the fuel filter. His response was; is that something that has to be changed? Check there first, then the fuel pump, then move on to the IPS, MAF, etc. If it wants to start, sputters and dies, it should be something easily diagnosed.
