I had a minor accident in my ford explorer xlt now it will not start is there a safety shut off switch that can be reset

Yes there is. The inertia switch. It's probably on the passenger side, in front of door and looks like this....pull carpet back, and push red button. If it's not there, try other side..it's there somewhere

Yes, My 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. Got in an accident. And would not start. The dash said pull over safely. I read this post and checked. And that was the problem. The fuel system cut off switch.
