2006 tdi rattle at idle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
At idle the car has a rattle like a loose exaust cover, goes away with slight rpm increase. Also peaks just as the
motor stops when you shut it off. Can't see it being the loose flywheel issue. Was told its the cam worn out also, but
seems to run to well for that. Any ideas?

I had this problem on my 1991 Jetta Turbo Diesel, it was the donut seal on the exhaust where the 2 'C' clamps were.
many things can cause this rattles, shakes etc on a diesel engine. check the mounts, check for leaks that make the engine unstable, check for loose parts because of the engine vibration. give feedback or more info to be of more help
Probably the Dual Mass Flywheel, they get loud when wearing out. Mine is starting to do the same. They make Single Mass Flywheels that you can get for it.
